THE PROCESS

Send me a draft of your document. I will give it a quick read-thru. This will allow me to get an idea of how much effort will be necessary to complete my review.  Before I start the editing process, I will send you a cost estimate for my services. If you accept my estimate, I will send you an invoice by e-mail for one-half of the total. You can pay by PayPal or a Credit Card of your choice.

I am a staff of one. I work on only one paper at a time. I prefer working with Microsoft Word formats.  When I have completed my review, you will receive two files.  One will have all of the Track Changes.  Because of the nature of Track Changes, the document could become very "colorful" and difficult to follow. Therefore, I also send a file that is "clean." I will have taken the liberty to "accept" all of my suggested changes in order to make the document more "readable."

My goal is to not "fracture" your analysis or to change your message.  I believe that you are the expert. I only look for inconsistencies in your presentation; clarity and consistency in your use of language; and of course, good grammar.  I expect you to "push back" where you might disagree with what I have done.  This is, after all, your product.

I expect that all of you work is original.  If not, I expect that all that is not original is accurately referenced.  I also expect that all copyright obligations have been met.

When we are finished with any "final corrections," I will send you a second invoice along with the file of the final product.  Layout and design are not my strong suits.  While I may have some suggestions for how the paper could be formatted, I leave the final publishing decisions up to you.

And of course, I expect to receive the other half of the cost estimate promptly.
